We believe that leaders discover their leadership dreams during adolescence & should be cultivated. In 2022, we were awarded a grant through Youth GrantMakers which allowed us to take our programming for older youth to the next level. We have since incorporated additional programming, have partnered with more high schools becoming a resource for more early childhood programs, established a safe space dedicated to the needs and wants of the youth and have expanded their exposure to professional development, leadership and youth empowerment opportunities. We are looking forward to consistently seeking grant funding and resources to ensure that what we have ignited in the youth continues to grow and reach more youth each year as we expand our reach throughout Baltimore.

Meet The Owner

Active Achievers is a nonprofit youth-serving organization that collaborates closely with a high-quality childcare center and nonpublic nursery school. Active Achievers is a beacon of quality mentoring, childcare, employment opportunities, future-forward opportunities, and homelessness prevention for older youth and early childhood resources. We foster a sense of support for families, ensure a welcoming environment for children, and provide youth and young adults with the necessary resources to facilitate developmentally and culturally appropriate

Youth receive direct career exposure to the childcare industry. They receive indirect exposure to other industries such as hospitality, merchandising, HR, consulting, real estate, housekeeping by shadowing our President and Vice President who often engage in direct contact with professionals from these backgrounds. Youth engage in the process of starting a childcare businesses from beginning to grand opening. They will visit vacant and established sites as part of the experience. Through our partnership with Academy Builders, we are training youth using the Essentials of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Curriculum, youth are interviewing childcare entrepreneurs about their business journeys and are developing business plans.
